Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes, assisting with daily activities and ensuring their well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes in condition or behaviour
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for all
- Support with medication administration under supervision where applicable
- Assist with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living space
- Drive clients to appointments or outings if necessary, ensuring safe transportation
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills to manage care plans and daily schedules effectively
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate approach with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a care home or home care setting
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving transportation of clients
- Ability to adapt communication style to meet individual needs of clients with diverse backgrounds and conditions
