This role is 22 hours per week, 3 days a week and initially on a 6 month trial period.
Previous experience and knowledge is essential for this role.
Moat park is an age-exclusive Retirement Village based in Great Easton it consists of 27 Apartments and 11 Cottages, a clubhouse that includes a restaurant, Bar, Library, including a private care home and is set within 6.5 of Landscaped grounds.
Reports to : General Manager and working along side our part time gardener
Function: To work as part of the team to maintain high standards within our beautiful mature landscape gardens including an ornamental lake.
Qualifications : Good Horticultural knowledge along with experience of landscaping & planting is essential. Friendly, outgoing individual who enjoys working with people, Able to work on their own and as part of a team, Self motivated, Previous experience essential, Excellent communication skills, Honest and trustworthy. A mature outlook, initiative and a wide variety of practical skills are required. Must have experience and be proficient in using large and small garden machinery ie Ride on Mower, Strimmers & Hedge cutters.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a full DBS check (paid for by the company).
Duties:
- Maintain high standards of the Grounds
- Using own initiative and knowledge of experience to improve planting and the look and feel of the Grounds.
- Taking ownership of areas that need improvement including design and specialists projects.
- Grass Cutting
- Planting
- Weed Control
- Outside area cleaning
- To maintain an attitude of integrity and respect and to maintain confidentiality both within the Village and the Community.
- To be aware of the Health and Safety at Work Act and to ensure that standards are maintained within the Company's Safety Policy.
- Such other duties as are commensurate with the post.
