Supermac's Ireland Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join their team as Business Development Manager for their sister pizza brand Papa John's.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Business Development Manager provides overall business development support to the Papa John’s Pizza areas, under the Supermac’s umbrella.
The main objective of the role is to ensure that pizza standards and quality, together with sales and market share meets or exceeds the targets established for each individual Papa John’s unit, whether company operated or franchised.
The Business Development Manager supports the Supermac’s Operations Manager in delivering superior pizza standards within each store, to ensure KPI’s are achieved, in terms of quality, staff training, new product development, and competitor analysis.
Success will be measured in terms of Pizza sales, Deliveries, Delivery times, Accuracy of orders, and on-going business development objectives to positively impact the success of Papa Johns within the Supermac’s Group.
Support from the Supermac’s Operations Team/Training/Marketing/HR is given as needed to facilitate alignment of goals with that of the overall company. Within that scope falls many key functions such as budgeting, staffing, training, new product development, marketing, community involvement, inventory control, labor control, onboarding of drivers etc.
The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for driving the business across all locations, continuously striving to expand and promote the brand at all levels.
THE JOB:
- Demonstrate exemplary business development and sales skills whilst ensuring standards of quality and ensuring efficient accurate delivery of products to customers, whilst adhering to and ensuring compliance with Papa John’s policies, practices, and procedures.
- Effectively evaluating competitors and their offers on a case-by-case basis where we compete, finding ways to generate new sales, developing links with the communities we operate in to build relationships and sales generation. Provide quality customer service to build and maintain a loyal customer base; create and participate in customer-orientated programs and maintain a strong presence in the community.
- Professionally and promptly respond to customer concerns or issues including customer complaints received through Stores/ Head Office; ensure appropriate and timely resolution of customer concerns or issues. Solicit customer feedback, share feedback with teams, and use feedback to improve restaurants’ operations and build brand loyalty.
- Set the tone for a high performing team, identify key people in each store to drive the Papa John’s brand, create up selling opportunities, drive on line business to ensure it is optomised and efficient, maintain adequate staffing levels; communicate performance expectations and conduct performance reviews.
- Ensure profitability through proper portion control, training, and by demonstrating exemplary managerial and operations skills, whilst ensuring compliance with Papa John’s policies, practices and procedures.
- Ensure regular visits to restaurants; completing administrative duties; monitoring quality, assessing delivery times, identifying delivery area sizes; and remaining current on operational changes and implementing changes and best practice as needed.
- Identifies new opportunities for sales growth; implements effective targeted marketing and district developmental strategies and plans to meet or exceed financial and business objectives; supports region and company direction; and monitors the execution of the plans and adjusts as necessary.
- Plans, organises, and directs all pizza related activities to ensure successful new store openings and the ongoing success of existing stores. Duties to include but not limited to; training, advertising and marketing, pre-opening runs, and grand opening celebrations.
Person Specification:
- Must possess at least 5 years Senior Management Experience in a multi-site volume driven Pizza Business.
- Must be willing to take the lead and get stuck in at an operational level, leading by example in building sales, upselling, standards, skill, and harnessing a positive energy around all aspects of pizza making, cooking and selling.
- Demonstrates principled leadership and sound business sense
- Delegates tasks to the most appropriate team member, able to remain in control in difficult situations
- Communicates pizza goals and a motivating vision; links individual performance to achieving restaurant goals.
- Provides clear direction and authority and is assertive
- Regularly coaches Management to drive for results, is a role model in his/her display of professionalism
- Mindful of crossover between Supermac’s & Papa Johns, loves both brands, drives the Papa John’s brand
