Job Title
Accounts Technician
Job Purpose
To represent the industry-leading K Rend and Weber brands within the Republic of Ireland, delivering profitable growth through contractor and distributor pull-through business, maintaining specifications with housebuilders and key partners, and driving market share in line with Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions (SGES) strategic objectives’.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide support and guidance to the finance team across sales ledger, purchase ledger, banking, credit control and general financial processing, including:
- Provide sales ledger processing support and query resolution;
- Review the purchase ledger for anomalies;
- Review the General Ledger entries on a monthly basis;
- Manage and complete the reconciliation of the banks, following up with any queries; and
- Maintain and update company process documentation relevant to the finance function.
- Assist with end of month and end of year accounts preparation and analysis;
- Reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts (banks, stocks, fixed assets, prepayments/accruals)
- Calculating and posting recurring journals (depreciation, amortisation, rebates accrual)
- Checking and exporting supplier payment runs
- Detailed sales reporting by segment against budget
- Year end audit information
- Assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of KPIs to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function;
- Provide recommendations for system and process improvement;;
- Assist in the preparation of internal and statutory returns to ensure compliance with legislation, financial instructions, scheme of delegation, policies, procedures and best practice;
- Provide support to customers by developing and maintaining relationships which drive the performance of both the customer’s business and that of Kilwaughter;
- Provide ad hoc support to the Financial Controller, Finance Director, Project Accountant and wider business;
- Be an ambassador for the company’s values and at the forefront of a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Accounts Technician (ATI or equivalent) or a part-qualified accountant (CIMA, CAI, ACCA or equivalent).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience gained in a similar role.
- Experience of using an ERP system, and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience in liaising & communicating effectively with non-finance team members
- Experience within a Manufacturing environment or FMCG, desirable.
