Due to continued growth, Chamberlain Home and Gardens are looking to recruit a full-time all year around Grounds Maintenance Operative.

Our working hours are 07.30 – 16.30 Monday - Friday, with over time available. We meet each morning at our yard in Tortworth, deliver a briefing, then each team travel to their allocated site(s), ensuring we have everything to deliver our commitment on board.
Typical duties will include but are not limited to:-
- Maintaining grass areas via lawn mowing, strimming, edging, weed seed and feed, scarification and aeriation
- Maintaining feature shrubs and boundary hedge rows ensuring these are well managed, clear of windows and paths, ensuring pruning is completed with a knowledge of plants and shrubs.
- Maintaining established flower beds, ensuring these are weeded, supply of compost and top dressing.
- Carpark and footpath clearance, clearing the areas of moss / vegetation, any waste and ensuring this remains presentable
- Soft and hard landscaping, including complete garden makeovers, fencing, water features, pergolas, patios, raised beds, etc. On landscaping projects you will be working alongside experienced colleagues / contractors enhancing or gaining new skills.
The ideal candidate to suit our team will:
- Be positive, self-motivator, happy working outside in all weather.
- Have a keen eye for attention to detail and comply with the company ethos.
- Be reliable with good time keeping,
- Be honest and hardworking with good organisational skills and able to follow instructions, working well as part of a team or individually.
- Able to communicate well verbally at all levels, be polite, well-mannered and well presented in company uniform.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (mandatory)
- Hold a valid spraying licence (advantageous)
- Experience in grounds maintenance / a keen interest in plants and horticulture would be advantageous, however, is not essential as full training will be provided.
