K.E Kents Ltd is now in its 54th year, we are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our general haulage driver team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating Hiab, Moffet and flatbed lorries to deliver goods across various locations in the South East. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers or newly passed male and female Class 2 drivers who are committed to maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Hiab and Moffet training will be funded by the company for the right candidates. The position is full-time and involves delivering various goods efficiently and safely while adhering to all relevant road regulations and company policies. In addition to a competitive salary will be overtime and a weekly bonus scheme.
Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 flatbed lorries to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring securement of items during transit.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams using the in-cab tablet.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies throughout all journeys.
- Assist with loading and unloading when required, ensuring careful handling of goods.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and professional conduct at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed vehicles.
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience preferred in driving Hiab, Moffet or flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for commercial driving in the UK, tachograph knowledge is desirable but training will be given.
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safe driving practices, punctuality, and delivering exceptional service on every journey.
