We are seeking an experienced Carpet and Flooring Fitter to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and flooring installation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Duties:
- Prepare surfaces for carpet and flooring installation, ensuring precise fitment according to client specifications
- Remove old flooring safely and efficiently before installing new coverings
- Lay carpets, vinyl, laminate, LVT or hardwood flooring using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain a clean work environment, including organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or issues encountered during installation
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpet and flooring fitter
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques relevant to flooring installation
- An understanding of health and safety regulations pertaining to building sites
- Ability to read measurements accurately and work with precision
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
- A CSCS card is preferred but not essential
- A full UK driver’s license
