We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Worker to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in residential care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in implementing care plans, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring the well-being of young residents. Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with their daily needs, promoting their emotional and physical well-being.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, independence, and personal growth.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Encourage positive behaviour through consistent boundaries and appropriate discipline strategies.
- Support children with educational activities and liaise with external agencies as required.
- Take children to appointments, activities, or outings in accordance with organisational policies.
- Record observations, incidents, and progress accurately in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, children, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support.
Requirements
- Mandatory Training.
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Child Care.
- Safeguarding Level 3
- Medication Administration Level 2
- PMVA (No alternative accepted)
- Self-Harm cert (including Ligature)
- Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE) training.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in creating or following care plans.
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging situations.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required by the organisation’s rota system. -- Day shifts, Night shifts, Weekend shifts.
Pay: From £14.24 per hour
