Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including proper handling of kitchen equipment and ingredients
- Support in training new staff members on kitchen procedures and safety protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef in a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Skilled in meal preparation, plating, and presentation techniques
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team
- Experience with serving customers or assisting in front-of-house duties is advantageous
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain high-quality standards at all times
