ANZUK Education is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Woolwich to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a dedicated SEND Provision, supporting pupils with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment.
Please note: Previous SEND experience is essential for this role.

The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant
You will support pupils within a specialist SEND Provision, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis within the SEND Provision
- Deliver structured interventions aligned with EHCP targets
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Role Requirements – Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have proven experience working with children with SEND (essential)
- Be confident supporting a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Be patient, resilient, and nurturing in approach
- Work effectively as part of a specialist SEND team
- Support the delivery of EHCP targets and interventions
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Have a valid Right to Work in the UK
