Job Summary
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-1pm, 2pm-5pm
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Class 2 driver with HIAB qualification to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating lorries and HIAB cranes to facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of goods. This role requires a professional driver with a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, delivery procedures, and excellent manoeuvring skills. Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 flatbed lorries equipped with HIAB cranes in accordance with road safety and operational standards.
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using the HIAB crane, ensuring all items are transported securely.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and customer requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods at various sites, maintaining high standards of health and safety.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in line with company policies.
- Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies during driving operations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- HIAB crane qualification (HIAB qualified) is essential.
- Proven experience operating Builders Merchants Hiab crane.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and professionalism on the road.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and cargo handling.
- Ability to operate flatbed trucks safely while managing the complexities of crane operation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
