As our Team Leader you will be working under the guidance of The Registered Manager, you will support with clear, structured leadership to the local teams, ensuring that the highest standard of care and support is always provided. The role will also involve:
- Ensure support plans and support records are up to date.
- Ensure all records, including finances, medication are audited following company policy to ensure compliance.
- Ensure shifts are scheduled and covered to meet the needs of service users that Unique Care Network Limited.
- Recruit staff in accordance with Unique Care Network Limited recruitment policy and procedure and ensure that admin is well informed of what paperwork to file.
- Induct new staff
- Organise and plan upcoming supervisions and appraisals for support workers
- Carry out spot checks to ensure that support workers are providing service users with assistance to accomplish daily tasks etc.
- Administering medication for service users following Unique Care Network Limited policies and procedures and completing medication competencies for support workers.
- Ensure that staff that are being allocated out to provide the service are fully trained and competent to meet the needs of that person.
- Ensure that any problems or concerns or changes are reported to the service user’s family.
- You should be able to build rapport with service users and their families.
- Work effectively with professionals to support the service user holistically
- Prepare and attend professional and MDT meetings in the absence of the Manager
- Have a clear understanding of the principles of Mental Capacity and Best Interests Decisions and there process.
- You should have excellent telephone manner to deal with staff and service users under pressure.
- Always ensure that staff are introduced to service users before they are allocated to their support.
- You should be able to adapt and address situations quickly
- You should be able to manage travel delays and staff shortages to fully mitigate possible the impact on the Service User, managing and minimising their distress and security in such situations.
- You should have excellent writing skills when reporting incidents and making safeguarding referrals etc.

- You should be able to come up with ideas on how things could be done better and ensuring appropriate services are provided for people using our services.
