Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional waitstaff for Indian and Sri Lankan Restaurent to provide exceptional service in a vibrant dining environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a memorable guest experience by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in guest services, food safety, and culinary operations within a dynamic team.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted
- Serve meals and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Assist with setting up tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and delivery times
- Handle guest queries courteously and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Manage billing transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour at all times
Skills
- Strong background in hospitality or restaurant service environments
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Experience in serving, food preparation, or kitchen operations is advantageous
- Good organisational skills with effective time management abilities
- Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Ability to upsell menu items tactfully to enhance the guest experience
- Culinary or kitchen experience can be beneficial but is not essential
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
