JOB PURPOSE
The Operations Manager will provide operational leadership across all Mind in Furness services, ensuring safe, effective, high-quality and person-centred service delivery.
The postholder will lead operational performance, line manage managers and team leaders, oversee quality and compliance, support organisational development and ensure the charity remains responsive to the needs of local communities.
The role will enable the Chief Executive Officer to focus on strategic leadership, income generation, partnership development and organisational sustainability whilst maintaining strong operational oversight.
Role and Key Responsibilities
1) Operational Leadership
· Oversee the effective day-to-day operation of all Mind in Furness services
· Ensure services operate safely, effectively and in line with organisational values, policies and procedures
· Provide operational oversight across multiple delivery sites and projects
· Act as first point of escalation for operational matters and incidents
· Support service continuity and staffing resilience
· To deputise for the CEO as and when required
2) Staff Management and Development
· Line manage Service Managers, Team Leaders and other delegated staff
· Provide supervision, guidance and operational support
· Support performance management, capability, wellbeing and staff development
· Support recruitment, induction and workforce planning
· Promote positive communication and a positive team culture; motivate and inspire others to perform their best, valuing their work and encouraging them to learn and reflect.
3) Financial and
Resource Oversight
· Effectively manage use of staffing and operational resources
· Work alongside the Finance Manager and CEO to oversee and be responsible for the efficient and effective management of service budgets
· Support income sustainability through effective operational management
4) Quality, Compliance and Risk
· Ensure services are compliant with safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, GDPR and other regulatory
requirements
· Support the monitoring and implementation of quality standards, policies and procedures
· Assist with audits, inspections and quality frameworks including Mind Quality Management
· Ensure appropriate incident reporting and risk management processes are in place
· Support operational aspects of supported housing compliance
5) Partnership and Community Working
· Develop positive working relationships with operational partners & stakeholders
· Represent Mind in Furness at external meetings as required
· Support collaborative working across health, social care and voluntary sector networks
6) Service Delivery and Improvement
· Monitor operational performance and outcomes across services
· Identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency
· Support implementation of new services, projects & operational developments using SMART action plans
· Contribute to service planning and delivery reviews
Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
