We are seeking compassionate and responsible individuals to join our team as Children’s Sessional Workers on a casual and flexible basis. You will be providing respite to families in the Borough of Bedford by taking children out on supervised visits to parks, shopping centre’s and children's entertainment centres. Visits are usually four hours duration including time for report writing with the busiest period being 4pm to 8pm weekdays, and weekends.
This is an agency role supporting our client, Bedford Borough Council Children’s Disability Team and you will need to have a highly flexible approach to working patterns as visits can take place between 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday. General working hours will be four hours per day with the core hours being 4pm to 8pm weekday and one weekend day although this will be could be flexible for the right candidates.
Formal qualifications in working with children and families are not required but would be an advantage.
Experience in this field is required. You will need to be reliable, assertive, resilient and have the ability to maintain boundaries and be ready to attend training to build your experience and knowledge with families.
Experience of taking children out on supervised visits would be a huge advantage.
Use of a car and ability to drive within and out of Bedford is essential, as is the ability to to work flexible hours to include some early starts and late evenings and weekends.
