Job Summary
The PART-TIME CLERK to Budock Parish Council plays a vital role in supporting the administrative functions of the council. This position involves managing correspondence, maintaining records, and assisting with various clerical duties to ensure smooth operations. Duties
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence via email, post, and phone calls with professional phone etiquette
- Maintaining accurate records and files both digitally and physically
- Data entry and updating council databases using Microsoft Office,
- Assisting with organising meetings, preparing agendas, and recording minutes
- Handling administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and scheduling appointments
- Supporting financial administration through invoicing and expense tracking
- Responding promptly to enquiries from residents and external organisations
- Ensuring the office environment remains organised and efficient
Qualifications
- Proven office experience with strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), and QuickBooks. Website management desirable.
- Experience with data entry and general clerical duties
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Administrative experience within local government or community organisations is desirable
- Familiarity with office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, and telephones
