Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled 160 Tonne Bystronic Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press brake machinery. This role involves the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every task.
Duties
- Prepare, set up, and adjust press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
- Operate press brake machinery to bend and shape sheet metal according to drawings and specifications.
- Capable of inspecting own work for accuracy, quality and quantity confirming all folds conform with drawings and specifications.
- Detect and report any defective material and/or finished goods.
- Set up tooling and adjust machine settings for optimal performance and accuracy, and perform routine maintenance as required on the press brake.
- Perform grinding and finishing operations to achieve desired surface quality.
- Ensure all finished goods are Palletised and complete all production paperwork
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and production targets are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Strong mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure precision and accuracy in all bending and shaping tasks.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication processes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of different types of metals, their characteristics, and how they respond to bending operations.
- Familiarity with tooling setup and operation of hand tools is essential.
- Fork Lift Truck experience is desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced and physically demanding environment, demonstrating strong communication skills.
