Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Plasma Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment to fabricate and assemble metal components with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plasma cutting machines according to specifications and technical drawings
- Prepare sheet metal and other materials for cutting, ensuring correct placement and alignment
- Use hand tools, tooling, and grinding equipment to finish fabricated parts as required
- Perform welding and assembly tasks to complete components in accordance with safety standards and quality requirements
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations using mathematical skills to ensure accuracy of cuts and assemblies
- Inspect finished products for defects or irregularities, making adjustments as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with routine maintenance of plasma equipment to ensure optimal performance
Experience
- Previous experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or mechanical assembly is highly desirable
- Familiarity with sheet metal work and the use of hand tools and tooling
- Basic knowledge of mechanical principles and ability to interpret technical drawings or schematics
- Competence in basic maths for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Prior experience operating plasma cutting machinery will be advantageous but is not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
