PRODUCTION OPERATOR
HOURS OF WORK 38 HOURS PER WEEK WITH ½ HOUR UNPAID LUNCH BREAK
MONDAY TO THURSDAY TIME: 8.00 AM to 4.30PM
FRIDAY TIME: 8.00 AM to 2PM
JOB SUMMARY
To work in the production team to assemble sub-assemblies and product to a consistent high-quality standard and to meet product targets. To contribute to the manufacturing team with improvement ideas.
- To assemble sub-assemblies and products to the relevant work instruction
KEY DUTIES
- To work to achieve reasonable targets set by the department supervisor
- To inspect incoming material and components prior to assembly process
- To be responsible for the quality of their own work
- To inspect their own and fellow employee’s work
- To work to company standards
- Able to use hand tools
- Able to use electrical and pneumatic tools
- To operate test equipment
- Able to work to work instructions, test instructions and verbal instructions
- To complete process documentation
- To enter information on to the database
- To replenish component storage bins
- To complete simple maintenance tasks
- To clean their own, other work areas, and the floor as directed by their supervisor
- To keep waste to a minimum
- To contribute improvement ideas on quality, productivity and working environment
- To communicate problems to supervision and engineering staff
- To work within the Health and Safety policy of the company
- To work with their fellow workers in the interests of harmony and to achieve company aims
- To observe company rules/procedures
- To be flexible (multi-skilled) to the needs of the business in doing a variety of tasks
- To work within the factory, stores, packing and warehouse
- Any other task commensurate with this role.
Additional Tasks where skill level is appropriate
- To operate light production machinery - cable cutting machine
- Able to solder components to PCBs
- Able to solder wires to components and PCBs
- Able to de solder components
PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS Good level of school and/or college education
EXPERIENCE Production experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
ATTRIBUTES Methodical and systematic approach to working
