About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Bar Person to join our team within our busy Restaurant in Whitehaven. Experience is preferred, but we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
You will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to our hotel guests and restaurant customers while ensuring the bar operates efficiently and maintains high standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Provide a warm, friendly and professional service to all guests.
- Take drink orders from restaurant customers and bar guests.
- Taking food orders for Restaurant guests.
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar area.
- Replenish stock and report shortages when required.
- Process payments accurately using the till/POS system.
- Ensure all licensing laws and Challenge 25 procedures are followed.
- Assist restaurant staff when required during busy service.
- Follow all food hygiene, health & safety and hotel policies.
- Help with opening and closing duties.
Requirements
- Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role and the sale of alcohol.
- Previous bar experience is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
- A positive attitude with a flexible approach to work.
- Reliable, punctual and well presented.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.

Pay: £10.85-£17.00 per hour
