We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing and well-established plant hire business operating across the West Midlands.
This role would suit someone with strong mechanical and fault-finding experience, ideally from a plant, heavy equipment, HGV, agricultural, or vehicle breakdown/roadside repair background. Experience responding to breakdowns and working under pressure would be highly beneficial.
The role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of construction plant equipment across customer sites and workshop locations.

Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a range of construction plant equipment including excavators, dumpers, and associated machinery

Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance

Attend breakdowns across customer sites within the West Midlands

Complete pre-hire inspections and safety checks

Maintain accurate maintenance records and job paperwork

Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards

Work closely with the wider plant and operations team to minimise downtime

Previous experience working on vehicle breakdown, plant hire, construction, or heavy equipment sector

Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills

Experience with auto-electrics is highly advantageous

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Good understanding of workshop and on-site health & safety procedures

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Full UK Driving Licence essential

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction Plant Maintenance & Repair
