Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Engineering Labourer to join our clients team. This role involves supporting various engineering and fabrication tasks within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will assist with general labouring in the workshop, keeping the site clean and tidy, adhering to health and safety along with general assembly, fabrication, and maintenance activities, ensuring smooth operations across multiple projects.
A strong engineering aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and basic engineering skills are extremely advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within an engineering setting while contributing to diverse projects. There is training given to progress for the right person into laser cutting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fabrication processes, including welding, grinding, and assembly of components
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and tooling safely and efficiently
- Support the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems
- Contribute to workshop organisation by managing materials and supplies for ongoing projects
- Support the preparation of parts and assemblies for manufacturing or repair purposes, cleaning parts ready for use
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure working environment
Desirable Requirements
- Proven experience or familiarity with fabrication, welding, grinding, and assembly processes
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of basic engineering principles
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and general tooling
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for measurements and calculations
- Previous warehouse experience or involvement in similar environments preferred
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to varied tasks in a fast-paced environment
