We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Shropshire Term Service Contract team in Shrewsbury, supporting the delivery of essential infrastructure services for Shropshire Council.

Hours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per year + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be supporting the Shropshire commercial team in delivering a diverse range of projects, from capital maintenance schemes to emergency response activities.
Your day to day will include:
- Assisting with pricing capital maintenance schemes including surfacing, drainage and structural repairs
- Supporting cost management for winter maintenance, emergency response and street scene activities
- Assessing valuations, calculating payments and monitoring subcontractor performance
- Contributing to monthly Cost Value Reports and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Collaborating with the commercial team on various duties as required
What are we looking for?
This Assistant Quantity Surveyor role could be a great fit if you:
- Bring experience within construction, ideally in a commercial or quantity surveying environment
- Are confident using Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with digital tools
- Have strong numerical skills and a keen eye for detail, taking pride in producing accurate work
- Are currently studying towards, or open to studying for, a commercial or quantity surveying degree
- Enjoy working as part of a team, with a positive approach to problem-solving and collaboration
