K G Smith & Son is a family run business based in Hartwell, Northampton, NN7 2HF. Operating since 1947 we are the largest independent coal merchant in the country. Alongside our solid fuel range we specialise in beverage gases, industrial gases as well as Calor gas agents. We are looking for a drivers mate to assist within in transport team as we prepare for our busy season.
Duties to include:
- Safely and efficiently aid our drivers with the delivery of products.
- Load and unload solid fuels and gas cylinders from the van.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and to a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Collect payments from customers, if necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer interactions.
Requirements:
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and carrying solid fuels.
- Follow instructions from the lead driver.
- Work well in a team.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
As a drivers mate you will expected to follow the time schedule of the lead driver and be flexible to work with different individuals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while providing exceptional customer service. If you are a reliable individual we encourage you to apply for this position.
