Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified SVQ Assessor/Verifier specialising in Health and Social Care to join our professional development team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in evaluating and supporting learners undertaking Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) in health and social care settings. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of learners’ practical skills and theoretical knowledge against SVQ standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to learners to facilitate their professional growth and achievement of qualification standards.
- Verify assessment processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to quality assurance protocols across all evaluations.
- Develop tailored assessment plans that align with individual learner needs and organizational objectives within health and social care environments.
- Promote best practices in behavioral health, addiction counseling, crisis management, motivational interviewing, and social work through ongoing training and mentoring.
- Support workforce development initiatives by identifying skills gaps and recommending targeted training programs for staff members.
- Maintain detailed records of assessments, verifications, and learner progress in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages professional development, ethical practice, and continuous improvement among care practitioners.
Experience
- Proven experience as an SVQ Assessor or Verifier within the health and social care sector, with a strong understanding of SVQ frameworks.
- Extensive knowledge of behavioral health issues, addiction counseling techniques, crisis management strategies, and motivational interviewing methods.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver assessments in diverse care settings while maintaining high standards of accuracy and fairness.
- Strong background in workforce development initiatives aimed at enhancing skills within health and social care teams.
- Familiarity with social work principles and practices relevant to adult and community care environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with learners, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications such as assessor/verifier awards (e.g., D32/D33 or A1/A2) are essential.
Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
