Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to operate night shifts, delivering goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving, and delivery services. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to contribute to a dynamic logistics team, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries during night shifts, adhering to all road safety and traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in optimal condition.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Follow company policies regarding driving hours and rest periods to comply with legal requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Demonstrable driving experience with HGV Class 1 vehicles, including night shifts.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, with a focus on punctuality and customer service.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence is essential, along with relevant CPC certification.
