About Us
Cherry Tree Café is located within House of Girl Boss, a thriving beauty and aesthetics training academy in Altrincham.
Throughout the week we welcome students, models, visitors and members of our team, providing freshly prepared food and drinks in a friendly, professional environment.
We’re now looking for an experienced Café All Rounder who can take ownership of the café and help shape its future.
This isn’t just another café role. We’re looking for someone who can bring their hospitality knowledge, experience and ideas to the business. We want someone who is confident working independently, takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards and is passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience.
While the role is initially 3 flexible weekdays, there is potential for additional hours as the café continues to grow.
A full handover and training will be provided, however we’re looking for someone who can bring their own knowledge and expertise to help us continually improve and develop the café.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of Cherry Tree Café, ensuring it operates efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, using their initiative and treating the café as if it were their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage the day-to-day running of the café.
- Prepare high-quality breakfasts, lunches and light bites.
- Prepare a range of hot and cold drinks, including barista-style coffees.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Open and close the café.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming and well-presented environment.
- Manage stock levels and place orders with suppliers.
- Monitor stock rotation and minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene and Food Safety regulations.
- Ensure allergen information is accurate and communicated correctly.
- Maintain all required food safety records and documentation.
- Complete temperature checks, cleaning schedules and due diligence paperwork.
- Ensure the café is always ready for Environmental Health inspections.
- Identify opportunities to improve the menu, customer experience and café operations.
- Work closely alongside the wider House of Girl Boss team while confidently managing your own department.
Essential Requirements
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working within a café, coffee shop or hospitality environment.
- Experience independently managing or supervising day-to-day café operations.
- Strong food preparation experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A strong understanding of Food Hygiene and Food Safety legislation.
- A good understanding of allergen management and allergen legislation.
- Knowledge of Environmental Health standards and maintaining compliance.
- Experience following food safety procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Understanding of food storage, stock rotation and waste management.
- Confidence working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to use initiative and identify what needs doing without being directed.
- High attention to detail.
- A positive, friendly and professional attitude.
- Pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards.
Desirable
- Level 2 (or above) Food Safety & Hygiene qualification.
- Barista experience.
- Experience ordering stock and managing supplier relationships.
- Experience creating menus or seasonal specials.
- Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
- Knowledge of Natasha’s Law and allergen labelling requirements.
- Experience helping grow or develop a hospitality business.
- Ideas and enthusiasm for continually improving the customer experience.
- Social media understanding / experience to help grow the cafe social platforms.
