Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Reports To: Head of Production

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year (paid hourly)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Day shift
Role Overview
Responsible for maintaining production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role includes preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement across site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs.
- Diagnose faults and minimise production downtime.
- Maintain maintenance records and logs.
- Support equipment reliability and improvement projects.
- Ensure machinery meets safety and compliance standards.
- Work with production teams to prioritise maintenance needs.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
Desirable
- Engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
- Food or FMCG manufacturing experience.
- PLC fault-finding experience.
