The Project Officer will support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the Museum Innovation Fund–supported project to design, pilot and evaluate a museum-led heritage skills hub. The role will also provide operational support to backfill some routine administrative and coordination tasks.
The post is time-limited and focused on supporting innovation, learning and testing rather than ongoing core operations.
Duties
Project support and coordination
- Support the CEO with day-to-day management of the Museum Innovation Fund project
- Coordinate pilot activities, timetables and logistics across partners and tutors
- Liaise with contractors, consultants and freelance practitioners in heritage skills
- Support the organisation of meetings, workshops and learning events
- Maintain project records, action logs and basic monitoring information
Operational and administrative support
- Provide backfill for routine operational tasks during periods of increased project activity
- Support booking administration for pilot courses and activities
- Assist with basic financial tracking (e.g. invoices, timesheets) in liaison with the book-keeper
- Support data collection for evaluation (e.g. participant lists, feedback forms)
Communications and engagement
- Support day-to-day communications related to the skills hub (e.g. updating web content, sharing course information)
- Liaise with partners including but not limited to Building Futures Galloway
- Assist with preparation of information for Board updates and funder reporting
Compliance and good practice
- Work in line with the Trust’s policies on safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and equality
- Ensure that volunteers are appropriately supported
Pay: £15.00 per hour
