EDM Toolmaker
The role of EDM Toolmaker:
- Maintain tools to support production and NPI projects
- Develop new tools and modify or repair existing tooling by following detailed engineering drawings or reverse engineering parts
- Use hand tools and machinery including lathes, presses, milling, and grinding
- Routine maintenance on press tooling (20–300 ton press tools) — progression and second operations
- Be involved in productivity improvement initiatives
- Use 2D and 3D CAD software
- Work closely with production when attending breakdowns to identify root cause and solve problems
The ideal EDM Toolmaker:
- Served within a domestic or contract toolroom
- Experience with multi-stage progressive and second operation tooling
- Stamping, pressing, or prototype environment experience
A manufacturing business working across multiple industries requiring an experienced Toolmaker to maintain tools for production and NPI projects.
