Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively within a team or independently.
Duties
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Engage in behaviour management techniques for clients with specific needs such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care settings.
- Strong background in patient care, particularly with seniors or individuals requiring specialised support.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s and dementia care techniques.
- Proficiency in first aid and emergency response protocols.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours compassionately and effectively.
- Competence in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
