Rehabilitation Assistant / Support Worker

If so, we are looking to grow Team Steps, where you will be caring for clients in their own homes and developing your skills as a rehabilitation support worker through our client specific training programmes - both online and in a bespoke classroom-based setting. When working independently with one of our clients, you will never be without assistance from us - thanks to our office team, who run a 24/7 on-call service.
The client is a young woman with an acquired brain injury. She requires support with: personal care, communication support and clear simple explanations, mobility assistance (2:1 transfers; specialist equipment used), medication administration, hydration, nutrition and meal prep and catheter/mitrofanoff care.
She has a rigorous, multi‑disciplinary rehabilitation programme, including: hydrotherapy, highly structured daily routines supported by physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech & language therapy guidelines as well as a community based education programme.
She is a determined and resilient individual who enjoys a range of creative and inspiring activities, both at home and in the community.
Female rehabilitation assistants are preferred for dignity and comfort.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside and receive hands-on training from our highly skilled neuro therapists, including specialists in neuro physiotherapy, psychology, occupational therapy, and more.
This role is based in Aylesbury and surrounding areas.
Flexibility is desirable, we currently have Monday-Wednesday available also.
Responsibilities will include
· Arranging and supporting to attend appointments
· Support with clinical needs including medication, therapeutic moving & handling, and managing challenging behaviour on occasion.
· Catheter care and meal preparation
· Support in accessing the community
. Assisting with the client's programme of rehabilitation
. Personal care
. Promote dignity, respect, and independence at all times.
Requirements for the position
· Acquired Brain Injury experience is preferred
· Six months health and social care experience is preferable; however, transferrable skills and personal experience will also be considered.
