Who are we
The Grove is a five bedded residential unit that is home to adults with a diagnosis of Autism and learning disabilities. At The Grove service users are provided care in a person-centred approach and they are at the heart of everything we do. On a day-to-day basis our support works will work on a ratio basis to enable our service users to access the community, attend appointments and achieve their own goals.
You will be a part of a friendly, motivated team committed to assisting with and improving the standards of living of our clients. As well as a warm welcome, they will provide you with the tools and guidance to develop your skills and confidence in this role.
What are we looking for
We are looking for a support worker to join our established team who wants to help enhance the people we support quality of life and has the motivation to support them to achieve any goals or things they want to achieve.
The 5 people who reside at The Grove have lived here for many years and they all want to build great relationships with the new member to the team, they are looking for someone who will encourage them to maintain their independency and have an interest in the things they like to do
The role
· You will have good communication and interpersonal skills
· The ability to build trusting relationships
- Able to support in house activities and hobbies, such as cinema, trips to the Zoo
- Attentive and inspire residents to achieve more!
- Ideally 1-2 years’ experience in Support Work
- Medicine Administration experience
- Monitoring, recording, and administering medication
- Light household chores, supporting with cooking and cleaning
- Assistance with mobility and personal care
- Assistance with shopping
- Providing companionship
Shifts days are 8am-8pm or 9am -9pm. You will work on a rota and must be flexible to work weekends
