Machine Shop Quality Inspector - Day & Night shifts available
X-Cel Superturn are manufacturers of high specification component parts and assemblies. Due to an increase in customer demand, we are currently looking to recruit at our AMP site for Machine Shop Quality Inspectors on both our Day and Night Shift.
This is a crucial role within the business and the successful applicant will be encouraged to make improvements including quality control, modernisation and automation where possible.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to –
- Inspecting a range of small to large engineered manufactured components
- Managing inspection reports
- Using a range of manual measuring equipment ie, micrometers, verniers, thread gauges
- Carrying out first-off inspections at the machines
- Using CNC CMM machines and FARO arms
- Completing computerised customer inspection reports
- Calibration
- Implement method/setting sheets for CMM programs
- Oversee & investigate internal rejects through to completion
- Manage customer witness inspection visits
- Complete patrol inspections while CMM is running
- Implement and learn offline CMM programming, develop the use of 3D models
- Inspection plan for new jobs, checking we have the necessary measuring equipment
- Generally plan and organise the inspection department and equipment
- Implement 5S with support from the Quality Manager
- Support the training of apprentices in the inspection department
Our successful candidate:
- Must be an experienced and competent user of CMM and/or FARO arm equipment to be considered for this position.
- Must bring extensive, similar manual inspection experience from a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
- Detail orientated, strong work ethic & a positive ‘will do’ attitude
- Follows management directions to achieve results
- Excellent planning, organisation & communication skills
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn
- Motivated working alone and as part of a busy team
Core hours of work:
Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00 Friday 07:00-12:00 (39 hours per week)
Night Shift: Monday to Thursday 4pm - 2.30am (40 hours per week)
Pay:
Day shift £16.72 - £17.43 (depending on experience)
Night Shift: £25.08 - £26.14 (depending on experience)
