Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a confident and compassionate Team Leader to join our Ofsted-registered children’s residential home in Ilford, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

- Shift pattern:
- 8:00am – 8:30pm
- Week 1: 3 shifts
- Week 2: 4 shifts
- Every other weekend off

About the Role
As a Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home. You will support the management team while leading shifts and ensuring high standards of care are consistently delivered.
You will act as a positive role model for both staff and young people, helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the smooth day-to-day running of the home
- Provide guidance, support, and supervision to Residential Support Workers
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Deliver high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards and care plans
- Support young people with emotional and behavioural needs using therapeutic approaches
- Promote independence, education, and life skills development
- Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting
- Work in partnership with external professionals and families
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
- Previous experience in a children’s residential home (EBD experience preferred)
- Experience in a senior role or readiness to step up into leadership
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Resilience, empathy, and a child-centred approach
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
