The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
You will be the registered person with Ofsted and will work closely with an experienced Operations Manager, a highly involved Responsible Individual, and fellow Registered Managers across the group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing residential childcare team
- Maintaining and improving the home's Ofsted rating, with a clear focus on achieving Outstanding outcomes
- Taking full responsibility for safeguarding, quality assurance, compliance, and the Statement of Purpose
- Ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, families, and external professionals
- Managing budgets, staffing rotas, recruitment, and workforce development
- Embedding the Secure Base model, trauma-informed practice, and child-centred approaches throughout the home
- Supporting positive outcomes for children and young people with EBD, SEMH, and complex needs
- Working collaboratively with senior leadership to support service development and organisational growth
About You
To be considered for this Registered Manager job in Suffolk, you will have:
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential home
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be actively working towards completion
- Proven experience leading teams through Ofsted inspections with Good or Outstanding outcomes
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, SEMH, complex behaviours, missing episodes, and exploitation risks
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge and leadership skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and lead from the front
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working within an EBD children's home
- Knowledge of the Secure Base model, PACE, and trauma-informed approaches
- Experience supporting service growth, quality improvement initiatives, or new-home development projects
