The Role - We are currently seeking a reliable, enthusiastic Plant Operative to join our Waste Transfer Facility on a day‑shift basis. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment and is committed to maintaining exacting standards of safety, efficiency, and teamwork. Full training can be provided for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a range of plant machinery including:
- Balers
- Counterbalance forklift
- Loadall
- Loading shovel
- 360° excavator and/or material handler with grab
- Loading, unloading and sorting multiple waste streams and products.
- Feeding automated picking lines and balers
- Shunting duties within the yard
- Carrying out banksman duties
- Manual handling tasks
- Working at height where required
- Completing pre‑use inspections and reporting defects.
- Conducting basic preventative and routine maintenance (cleaning, greasing, topping up fluids)
- Lock‑out / tag‑out procedures.
- Always maintaining a safe working environment
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: Between 06.00 - 06.00
- Every other Saturday: 07:00 – 13:00
(Hours may vary depending on operational requirements)

Requirements Essential:
- Full UK driving licence due to location.
Desirable:
- CPCS certification
- Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry is advantageous, but training will be given for the right candidate.
