The role in a nutshell:
As an MCST Dementia volunteer, you will be supporting the delivery of our effective Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) sessions across Worcestershire.
What will you be doing?
Tasks include, but not limited to:
Supporting the delivery of MCST sessions
Welcoming and supporting attendees
Supporting the engagement and interaction of attendees during sessions
Setting up and preparing the environment
Preparing and serving refreshments whilst maintaining a clean and tidy environment
Supporting assessments and administration
Working as part of a team
How would you be supported in this role?
In addition to induction training, you will be supported by the Dementia team who will regularly check in with you and provide support and guidance.
Why do we need volunteers in this role?
The purpose of of our MCST Dementia volunteer is to help support the delivery of our effective Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) to people with a diagnosis of dementia living in Worcestershire.
Additional information:
The MCST sessions run weekly in different locations. Each session runs for 2 hours, plus set up/pack away time.
As part of joining our Dementia team, we’ll ask you to complete an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and provide two references, to ensure everyone we support stays safe and well cared for.
We reimburse reasonable expenses incurred, for example travel costs.
