Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high-quality service. The ideal candidate will be reliable, hardworking, and eager to develop their skills within the culinary and hospitality sectors. Previous experience is not mandatory but a keen interest in food preparation and kitchen operations is advantageous.
Duties
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision.
- Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain a safe working environment.
- Restocking supplies and ensuring all items are stored correctly.
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently.
- Supporting the team during busy service periods by helping with organisational tasks as required.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary experience is a plus.
- Experience in serving or hospitality roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service standards.
- Familiarity with kitchen safety procedures and hygiene standards is advantageous.
