Farm Veterinary Surgeon – West Wales
We're looking for an experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and progressive farm team in the heart of West Wales.
If you're passionate about dairy practice and want to be part of a supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together, this could be the perfect opportunity. We have a large and established dairy client base, meaning much of your time will be spent carrying out routine fertility work, herd health planning, preventative medicine and supporting farmers to improve herd performance. Alongside this, you'll also see a varied mix of beef and sheep work, giving you plenty of clinical variety while allowing you to build long-term relationships with our dairy clients.
One of the real strengths of our practice is the support you'll receive. You'll be joining a knowledgeable, approachable team that genuinely enjoys sharing ideas and working collaboratively. Whether you want to discuss a challenging case, develop a new herd health initiative or simply have another opinion while out on farm, there's always someone happy to help.
Our farm team includes a Specialist in Epidemiology, a colleague studying towards a Certificate in Bovine Medicine, one completing a Masters and another beginning a Diploma in Nutrition. We actively encourage professional development and are happy to support certificates and other areas of clinical interest, but there's no expectation that you need to be pursuing additional qualifications to thrive here. If you enjoy routine dairy work and becoming a trusted adviser to your clients, you'll have the backing of an experienced team while developing your own caseload and interests.
The role covers our Crymych, Newcastle Emlyn and Ciliau Aeron branches, providing exposure to progressive dairy farms as well as beef and sheep enterprises across one of the UK's most beautiful farming regions. From rolling countryside to dramatic coastlines, West Wales offers an exceptional quality of life, with a welcoming rural community, outdoor lifestyle and easy access to stunning beaches and national parks.
The out-of-hours rota is approximately 1 in 5, helping to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced Farm Vet who is confident carrying out routine dairy work and comfortable with sole charge when needed. You'll enjoy building lasting relationships with farmers, providing practical advice and becoming a valued part of their businesses. Just as importantly, you'll thrive in a collaborative team where support is always available, whether you're tackling a complex case or simply want to bounce ideas around with experienced colleagues.
What we offer

- Fully funded CPD.

If you're looking for a role where you can enjoy a busy dairy caseload, become a trusted adviser to progressive dairy farmers, continue learning from experienced colleagues and enjoy an exceptional lifestyle in beautiful West Wales, we'd love to hear from you.
