The Role
We are looking for a Software & Systems Engineer to join our Software & Systems team. You will contribute to the development, testing, and documentation of complex ultrasound measurement systems, as well as help improve our engineering and delivery processes.
This is an engineering‑led role with a focus on software development and system definition, with the opportunity to develop customer‑facing technical and sales support activities.
The role will be shaped around the strengths of the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Software & Systems Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain software for ultrasound measurement systems
- Support system‑level definition and specification of bespoke solutions
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation (requirements, test plans, system descriptions)
- Contribute to testing, validation, and compliance activities
- Support investigation and resolution of technical issues
Agile & Process Improvement
- Contribute to improving agile software development practices
- Planning, prioritisation, and issue tracking
- Improving visibility, traceability, and organisation of technical work
- Collaborate closely with software, electronics, and mechanical engineers
Customer & Sales Support (Secondary)
- Support technical input into sales opportunities and quotations
- Engage with customers to understand applications and requirements
- Act as a technical link between customers and internal teams
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or similar
- Experience in software or systems engineering
- Strong written communication skills for technical documentation
- Ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary systems
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
- LabVIEW, or other languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB
- Scientific instrumentation, automation, or measurement systems
- Agile development environments
- Experience in small or multidisciplinary engineering teams
