Overview
This is a one year fixed term contract.
Monday - Friday 38 weeks per year - term time only.
The post involves working predominantly in our Reception and KS1 class. You will be working under the guidance of the Class Teacher and will support the delivery of the whole curriculum, with potential for working 1-to-1 to support individual children or small groups of children. Experience in the EYFS is desirable, but not essential. You may be required to help with lunchtime supervision.
Duties
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, shows initiative and has a desire to have a positive impact on pupils’ learning outcomes.
You will need to:
· Be able to build positive relationships with children
· Be hard working, enthusiastic and creative, with plenty of patience and an understanding of children’s needs
· Offer encouragement and praise to build self-confidence
· Provide feedback on learning progress to the Class Teacher
· Be flexible and adaptable with excellent communication skills
· Have a positive outlook.
Qualifications
- Experience in EYFS is desirable
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, including those with autism or behavioural challenges
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with colleagues, pupils, and families
- Previous experience in tutoring or mentoring roles is advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's development and well-being
- Organised, patient, and adaptable approach to meet the varied needs of pupils
- Relevant qualifications or training in education support or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
Nassington Primary School is a small, vibrant and nurturing village school, located in the picturesque village of Nassington. We currently have 65 pupils on roll, from Reception to Year 6. We received a ‘Good’ judgement for our Ofsted inspection in November 2023.
Pay: £12.85-£13.05 per hour
