Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Block Paver to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying paving stones and bricks to create durable, aesthetically pleasing surfaces for various projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised masonry skills within a professional environment, contributing to high-quality outdoor and indoor spaces.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by clearing debris and ensuring proper base installation for paving work
- Lay bricks, blocks, and paving stones accurately according to design specifications and patterns
- Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, and chisels to position and secure materials
- Operate power tools including compactors, saws, and drills safely and effectively
- Mix mortar or concrete as required for setting blocks and stones
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and project deadlines
- Assist with site preparation, including organising materials and maintaining a tidy workspace
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or paving work is desirable
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels
- Experience with power tools relevant to masonry and paving tasks is advantageous
- Knowledge of construction techniques including carpentry, roofing, or welding is a plus but not essential
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Physical fitness to undertake manual labour in various weather conditions
- Valid health & safety awareness relevant to construction sites
