Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Powders Operative to join our production team at a busy paint manufacturing facility. This role involves handling, measuring, and processing powder-based raw materials used in the production of high-quality paints and coatings.
Shifts - Monday to Thursday 6am-4pm alternating 4pm-2am. (Temp to Perm)
Key Responsibilities
- Driving a counter balance FLT is essential
- Production/Mixing: Assist in the preparation, weighing, and feeding of raw materials into mixing vessels.
- Quality Control: Monitor product quality during production, making necessary adjustments, and conducting visual checks for coverage, colour, and contamination.
- Packaging & Labeling: Package finished paint products (pails/drums) in accordance with hazardous material handling instructions.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace (5S principles) in both the production line and warehouse areas.
- Documentation: Accurately complete batch sheets, production logs, and stock records.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- FLT: Counter balance.
- Experience: Previous experience weighing out raw materials or as a Production Operative, ideally within a paint, chemical, or coatings manufacturing environment.
- Safety Conscious: A solid understanding of COSHH, Health & Safety regulations, and hazardous material handling.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 25kg and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Literacy/Numeracy: Good standard of English to read batch instructions and complete paperwork.
