Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our Sunbeams baby room for children aged 1 -2 years. This role is Term Time Only.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's early learning experiences, working closely with colleagues and families to ensure a high standard of care and education. Previous nursery experience and a background in early childhood education are highly desirable.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with early years curriculum standards
- Support children’s emotional, social, and physical development through attentive care and guidance
- Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nappy changing, and sleep periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery environment to ensure health and safety compliance
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualised learning plans for children requiring additional support
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to promote positive relationships and shared understanding of children's needs
- Contribute to ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education framework
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative
- Valid Level 3 childcare qualification or relevant early years qualification recognised within the UK
- Passionate about working with young children, with patience, creativity, and organisational skills necessary for the role
Pay: £14.10-£14.27 per hour
