Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate data entry and processing of accounts payable. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a dynamic financial services environment. The position involves working with various accounting software platforms and requires a proactive approach to managing financial records efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing accounts payable transactions using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data within systems like Workday, QuickBooks, and other relevant platforms
- Support the reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports
- Manage invoice processing, verifying accuracy and ensuring timely payments
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Maintain organised records of financial transactions and documentation
- Contribute to month-end closing activities and audit preparations as required
- Provide general administrative support related to finance functions
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with Workday, QuickBooks, and other financial management tools is desirable
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services industry standards
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience in an administrative or finance support role is advantageous
- A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is preferred but not essential
