Tutor - SEND / SEMH (Out of School) - Gateshead & Newcastle upon Tyne
We are recruiting experienced tutors to work with SEND and SEMH pupils currently out of school, delivering structured 1:1 support in Gateshead and Newcastle upon Tyne.
Location: Gateshead / Newcastle upon Tyne (community settings / home-based learning)
Hours: Flexible (daytime availability essential)
Pay: £27-£30 per hour
Requirements (non-negotiable):

Active DBS on the Update Service
-
Strong teaching/tutoring experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH

Experience supporting pupils with barriers to education (e.g. anxiety, behaviour needs, trauma)
-
Confident managing behaviour and re-engaging disengaged learners

Able to plan personalised sessions and evidence progress

Must be reliable and able to travel locally

Deliver 1:1 tailored sessions to pupils out of mainstream education

Focus on engagement, core skills, and reintegration readiness

Build rapport and provide consistent, structured support

Record progress and provide brief reports after sessions
