Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our NIGHT team at a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals while working within a supportive and professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for those with previous supervisory experience in senior care settings.
1. To supervise the day to day running of the Home, observing and Monitoring the work of all staff in conjunction with the Manager.
2. To ensure relatives are treated with respect and have access to senior Management when requested.
3. To ensure the clients receive the correct care at specific times throughout the day and relevant charts are maintained.
4. To ensure that all medication is administered and documented, Carried out to the required guidelines.
5. To ensure that any clients who have intervention by the District Nurse they are informed immediately.
6. To ensure that clients are correctly prepared for the visit of the GP and that the senior person accompanies the doctor on their visit. To ensure that all information from the visit is passed onto the Manager and other staff as soon as possible. To ensure that all necessary information is documented into the clients care plan.
7. To ensure that clients who go out to appointments are adequately prepared and suitable escort is arranged. Appropriate documentation should be prepared to accompany the client.
8. To promote effective communication with all other outside agencies e.g., optician, dentist etc.
9. To ensure care plans are updated and evaluated for all clients to maintain high standards of care.
10. To ensure that daily evaluation reports are correctly written regarding the care of clients.
11.To ensure that any changes in a client’s condition is reported to the Manager as soon as possible.
12.To assist the Manager in the continual assessment and teaching of the care assistants.
13.To ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to Health and Safety Procedures.
14.To ensure appropriate repair lists are always maintained and reported to Relevant Personnel.
SKILLS - Previous experience preferred
NVQ - Level 3 required
Care certificate - preferred
Medication - Competent & training preferred.
NIGHTS FULL TIME ROLE.
Pay: £13.25-£13.50 per hour
