Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Indian Chef specialising in Tandoor cuisine to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience, particularly in Indian food preparation and Tandoor cooking, with a strong focus on food safety and quality standards. Duties
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes, with particular expertise in Tandoor-based recipes
- Supervise kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation
- Manage food production processes, maintaining consistency and efficiency in meal preparation
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in menu development, incorporating traditional Indian flavours and innovative culinary techniques
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes and excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area, adhering to safety protocols
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock control
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef specialising in Tandoor cuisine, with a strong portfolio of authentic dishes
- Supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive knowledge of Indian food preparation, cooking techniques, and flavour profiles
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Experience in food production, kitchen management, and restaurant operations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Previous experience in hospitality or catering environments is highly desirable
- A passion for Indian cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
Pay: £12.21-£19.28 per hour
