Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Curry Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. This role involves overseeing the preparation and cooking of authentic curries, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring that all dishes meet high-quality standards. Duties
- Lead the preparation and cooking of a variety of authentic curry dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain efficient operations.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Develop new recipes and menu items to keep offerings innovative and appealing to customers.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing before serving.
- Assist in training new team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Curry Chef or in a similar culinary role within a busy restaurant environment.
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques specialising in curries.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices within hospitality settings.
- Previous experience working in restaurants or hospitality establishments is highly desirable.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff effectively.
